Center for Contemporary Arts Building
August 23, 2001
President Stewart Caffey called the meeting to order. The minutes are now posted on the AWG web site, so reading them is waived, and the minutes are accepted by acclamation as printed.
Treasurer Gail McMillan reported the operating fund balance this date is $3549.44. We have 73 members who have joined or rejoined since June 1.
"Brags and Sags" were reported by the membership. Among the "Brags" was Doug Sellers who had a letter to the editor published in the Abilene Reporter-News, Paula Thomas who was told an editor wanted to see a chapter of her book and had an article published, and Ruth Sellers who had a long telephone conversation with an editor. Sags included Barbara Rollins who had a letter to the editor published, that being a sag because she was thanking people for support in an effort for a governor's appointment she didn't get.
